Three 17-year-olds were arrested Friday morning 11 July in connection with the fatal shooting of two brothers in Khayamandi township, Stellenbosch police confirmed, Cape town Etc reports.
The victims were attacked on Thursday afternoon inside their barbershop on Makupula Street, directly opposite Makupula Secondary School. Captain Nathalie Martin, police spokesperson, stated officers responded to reports of gunfire and discovered one man dead at the scene.
A second victim, transported privately to Stellenbosch Hospital, was pronounced dead on arrival.
According to Martin, preliminary investigations indicate two suspects entered the barbershop while the brothers were working. One suspect drew a firearm and opened fire before fleeing , she said. The deceased were identified as siblings, one of whom owned the business.
No motive or weapon details were immediately released. The three teenagers remain in custody as investigations continue.
