The bail application of a police officer sergeant accused of killing nine people for insurance claims, together with her two co-accused, has been postponed to the 23 rd and 24 th of July at the Polokwane Magistrate's Court in Limpopo.

Sergeant Rachel Kutumela, her sister Anna Shokane and daughter, Flora Shokane, allegedly benefited millions of rands from the death of nine people.

Investigating officer, Captain Keshi Mabunda, was expected to continue with cross-examination opposing bail.

However, Magistrate Godfrey Netshiozwi postponed the bail application as Captain Mabunda is bereaved.

"It is sad to announce that the witness who is testifying before the court as per request has lost his close relatives being his brother, and as such, we sympathise with the situation-So far, counsels, together with the state, have agreed to postpone this matter and as such, weve agreed that the matter be postponed to a further date, which date is the 23 rd and 25 th for a bail application."
