Mohammad Kaif feels that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are determined to play ODI cricket for as long as they can and not let anybody else dictate terms. The former India batter dropped a bombshell, saying that some selectors are also waiting for the iconic duo to fail.
Kohli and Rohit starred in unison in the third ODI against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday, October 25. While Rohit smashed an unbeaten 121 off 125 balls, Kohli remained not out on 74 off 81 deliveries. Their unbeaten 168-run partnership off 169 balls helped India chase down a 237-run target in just 38.3 overs, with nine wickets to spare.
Kaif believes that Rohit and Kohli will have important roles to play in the Indian team during the 2027 ODI World Cup. The cricketer-turned-expert explained that the veteran batters have the skills required to thrive on the fast and bouncy pitches in South Africa, one of the three nations set to host the marquee event.
