Atalanta have dismissed Croatian coach Ivan Juric after consecutive Serie A defeats left the team languishing in the lower half of the table. The announcement came on Monday, a day after a heavy 3-0 home loss to Sassuolo that left the club in 13th place.
The Bergamo side had opened the league campaign with a nine-match unbeaten run, though seven of those fixtures ended in draws, before suffering defeats to Udinese and Sassuolo. In a statement, Atalanta confirmed that Juric and his entire coaching staff had been relieved of their duties.
Juric endured a brief, demanding spell with Roma last year, departing the club within under two months. He later took charge of Southampton in the Premier League but resigned after the team became the earliest side in the competition's history to be relegated, bowing out in early April.
