Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed his sympathy for Ruben Amorim following the Portuguese coachs dismissal from Manchester United after just 14 months.
Amorim's tenure was cut short on Monday following a period of friction with club leadership, ending the shortest permanent managerial reign at Old Trafford since David Moyes.
The sacking comes despite previous assurances from United co-owner Jim Ratcliffe that Amorim would be granted a long-term project similar to the one Arteta has enjoyed at Arsenal.
