The Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Agency ART, Professor Philemon Zoo Zame, is representing Cameroon at the World Telecommunication Development Conference WTDC-25 in Baku, Azerbaijan. The event, which runs until 28 November at the Baku Convention Center, brings together influential global leaders to discuss the development and future of digital technology.
Cameroon's participation highlights the country's commitment to aligning its telecommunications sector with international best practices. Through proactive and adaptive regulation, ART aims to influence resolutions that will guide the modernization of the sector in the coming years, under the supervision of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications.
Key topics addressed at the conference include bridging the digital divide, cybersecurity, digital training, expanding internet access, supporting innovation and SMEs, and advancing digital transformation in agriculture, health, and education. The expected outcomes will improve access to essential services, protect users, promote inclusion of women and youth, and create skilled employment opportunities.
