Ancyl Withdraws 'tea Party' Remark, Backs National Dialogue In Full Swing

In a surprise move, the African National Congress Youth League ANCYL has issued a formal apology for dismissing the National Convention as a tea party during a media briefing held on Wednesday 27 August.

The Leagues leaders, including President Collen Malatji and Secretary-General Mntuwoxolo Ngudle, had previously criticised the Convention, questioning its legitimacy and suggesting it was an exclusive gathering.

The ANCYLs apology comes after its leaders expressed frustration over the exclusion of youth organisations from the National Dialogue process.
