In a surprise move, the African National Congress Youth League ANCYL has issued a formal apology for dismissing the National Convention as a tea party during a media briefing held on Wednesday 27 August.
The Leagues leaders, including President Collen Malatji and Secretary-General Mntuwoxolo Ngudle, had previously criticised the Convention, questioning its legitimacy and suggesting it was an exclusive gathering.
