Davide Ancelotti, the son of Brazils national team coach Carlo Ancelotti, has been named the new manager of Botafogo, the club based in Rio de Janeiro announced on Tuesday.
At 35 years old, Ancelotti is embarking on his first role as a head coach after previously working as an assistant to his father at Real Madrid, Everton, Napoli, and Bayern Munich.
He will take over from Renato Paiva, who was let go following Botafogos exit in the Round of 16 at the Club World Cup .
Ancelotti has agreed to a contract that will run until the end of 2026.
He relocated to Brazil to join his fathers coaching team with the national squad but was released from his position to assume leadership at Botafogo.
