The African National Congress ANC has resolved to defer its discussion on the South African Communist Party SACPs decision to contest elections independently to its regular National Executive Committee NEC meeting sometime next month.
It is currently hosting a Special NEC to discuss the state of local government with several mayors and their MMCs from its governed metros.
Initially, it said that it will discuss dual membership of both ANC and SACP members this weekend, following the partys decision to go it alone at the 2026 polls.
