The African National Congress' ANC NEC member David Makhura says members must campaign for the ANC and not another organisation.
Makhura was responding during a media briefing at the party's National General Council in Boksburg, East Rand, to the South African Communist Party's SACP decision to contest next year's Local Government Elections
Makhura says, "This National General Council NGC is deeply concerned about the SACPs decision to contest the elections separately from the alliance and that was expressed very strong, and the NGC said basically that the NEC was correct to say that decision poses a threat to the unity of the alliance and it can cause huge fragmentation."
