The African National Congress ANCs regional elective conference in the Peter Mokaba region in Limpopo has been postponed indefinitely due to unresolved disputes. The conference was scheduled to start yesterday, just outside Polokwane.

The partys current regional chairperson and Polokwane Municipality Executive Mayor, John Mpe, is expected to run for a third term. He is being contested by provincial ANC Womens League chairperson and Capricorn District Executive Mayor, Mamedupi Teffo.

ANC Limpopo Secretary Rueben Madadzhe says the party's guidelines allow time for members who have lodged disputes to appeal the outcomes with the national body before the conference can proceed.

Madadzhe says the provincial dispute resolution committee has dealt with the disputes.

ANC Peter Mokaba region spokesperson, Adolph Rapetswa, says a new date for the conference has not yet been set. Meanwhile, the ANCs Norman Mashabane regional elective conference is currently underway outside Tzaneen.
