The ANC in Johannesburg is set to kick off its 16th Regional Conference today. The conference, originally scheduled for September, was delayed for months due to allegations of division, factionalism, and manipulation among members.
Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero is expected to contest the regional chairperson position against Loyiso Masuku, a member of the mayoral committee for finance.
In June, the ANC Gauteng provincial task team disbanded the partys Johannesburg regional executive committee, which was led by Morero.
