South Africa received multiple individual awards at the conclusions of the U20 Africa Cup of Nations AFCON in Egypt on Sunday.

After defeating Morocco in the final to win the tournament for the first time, Amajita coach Raymond Mdaka was named Best Coach, Tylon Smith was named Best Player and Fletcher Smythe Lowe was named Best Goalkeeper at the tournament.

In addition, Smythe Lowe and Smith were named alongside teammates Neo Rapoo and Lazola Maku in the Best XI of the Tournament.

Amajita finished top of group A after losing their opening game to Egypt, but did not concede in any of their knockout games including the final, winning them all 1-0.

Their progression past the quarterfinals guaranteed South Africas place in the U20 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in Chile from 27 September to 19 October.
