Uruguay striker, Darwin Nunez has received a contract proposal from Saudi Arabia giants Al-Hilal, Softfootball reports.
The 26-year-old is open to leaving the Anfield side this summer after the club invested heavily on Frankfurt striker, Hugo Ekitike and are also negotiating a deal for Newcastle Uniteds Alexander Isak.
According to football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle , he claims that Al-Hilal followed up their interest for the Reds forward with a contract proposal.
He said:
Nunez scored just five goals in the premier league last season as Liverpool won their 20th title in the competition, only equal to Manchester United.
The Uruguayan generally didnt have a great season as he only scored 11 goals in all competitions which might have been the major reason Liverpool manager Arne Slot wants him out of the club this summer .
Al-Hilal has been on a striker search this summer and even offered Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen 700, 000 weekly to join the club.
The Saudi Arabia side even agreed to meet Napolis 75million release clause but Osimhen rejected the offer as he always wanted to stay in Europe and compete with the best players.
Just this week, Osimhen officially just Galatasaray after weeks of negotiations. The Turkish side had to provide a bank guarantee to Napoli that they would fulfil their agreement of paying 40million this summer and the remaining 35milion at the end of the 2026 season. They also agreed to a sell-on clause of 10.
Nunez who joined Liverpool in 2022 is also wanted by Napoli as Antonio Conte prepares for their title defense next season but no official bids have been placed.
