The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications of Algeria has announced a significant step toward modernizing the nation's communications infrastructure through the integration of electronic SIM eSIM technology. The initiative, which aligns with Algeria's broader digital transformation strategy, was discussed during a high-level meeting chaired by Mr. Syed Ali Zarouqi, Minister of Post and Wire and Wireless Transport, at the ministry's headquarters.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including the Head of the Regulation Authority of Mail and Electronic Communications, representatives of mobile phone operators, and officials from the National Agency for Vibration. The discussions focused on strategies for incorporating eSIM technology into mobile service packages and ensuring that Algeria's digital infrastructure is prepared for the next generation of telecommunications.
Minister Zarouqi emphasized that eSIM technology represents a major qualitative leap in mobile communications, enabling users to activate multiple lines on a single device without the need for physical SIM cards. He noted that this innovation will simplify administrative procedures, reduce reliance on imported SIM cards, and enhance digital security, ultimately bringing modern technology closer to citizens.
