On Saturday, November 15, 2025, Algeria's Minister of Posts and Wire and Wireless Transport, Mr. Said Ali Zorouqi, laid the foundation stone for the Algeria Space Communications Center at the Bogzol site in Al-Madiyah State. The project is designed to strengthen the country's national space communications infrastructure and ensure continuity of services.
The new center will serve as a backup facility to the existing Greenery Center, guaranteeing operational resilience in the event of emergencies. Spanning 30,000 square meters, the Bogzol site was selected based on strategic and technical considerations, including moderate seismic activity, high fiber optic density, and convenient access via the Shafa-Bogzol highway. Its proximity to the Algerian Space Agency further enhances its strategic value.
The project, with a total investment of 1 billion Algerian dinars, is expected to generate employment opportunities during both construction and operational phases. Authorities highlight that it will also have positive economic impacts at both local and national levels.
