Airtel Uganda has announced a significant interim dividend payout of Ushs 174 billion for the first half of 2025, a move reflecting the companys strong financial and operational performance. The payout, which amounts to Ushs 4.35 per share, is driven by a 28.7 increase in profit after tax, reaching Ushs 197.2 billion, and a 12.3 rise in revenue to Ushs 1.08 trillion. The companys EBITDA margin also saw an improvement, hitting 52.3.

This strong financial health is supported by robust cash flows. Airtel Uganda generated Ushs 429.2 billion in net cash from operations, which was more than enough to cover capital investments of Ushs 87.8 billion and the declared dividends. These investments are part of the companys strategy to expand its network and drive digital inclusion across the country. In the first half of 2025, Airtel Uganda rolled out 176 new 4G sites, extending its coverage to 91.5 of the population, and added 1,793 km of fiber. The companys data segment was a major growth driver, with a 30.4 increase in data revenue.

The interim dividend payment, which was split into two quarterly payouts, signals managements confidence in the companys future earnings and its commitment to providing value to shareholders. Airtel Ugandas focus on strategic investments, such as network expansion and new innovations like an AI-powered Spam Alert service, positions the company for continued growth.
