Airtel Tanzania reaffirmed its commitment to advancing technical education and digital inclusion during the recent VETA stakeholders' meeting held in Dar es Salaam. The event was attended by key government and education leaders, including Prof. Caroline Nombo, Secretary General at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Dr. Fredrick Salukele, Director of Technical Education and Vocational Training and CPA Antony Kasore, Director General of the Vocational Education and Training Authority VETA.
The delegation visited Airtel's exhibition booth, where they witnessed firsthand how the company is contributing to the country's technical and vocational education development through its innovative VSOMO platform. The platform, developed in partnership with VETA, provides Tanzanian youth with access to short technical training courses via mobile phones, making skills development more flexible and inclusive.
By integrating technology and education, Airtel Tanzania is empowering young people to gain practical skills, enhance employability, and improve their livelihoods. The VSOMO initiative reflects Airtel's broader mission to drive digital inclusion and support national goals for education and workforce development.
