Airtel Africa Buys Back 40,000 Shares Under Ongoing Share Repurchase Programme

Airtel Africa plc has announced the purchase of additional ordinary shares as part of its ongoing share buy-back programme, reinforcing its commitment to enhancing shareholder value. The transaction was executed on 2 January 2026, following the authority granted by shareholders and in line with the buy-back programme disclosed on 22 September 2025.

According to the company, a total of 40,000 ordinary shares, each valued at USD 0.50, were acquired from Barclays Capital Securities Limited. The shares were purchased at prices ranging between 356.40 pence and 363.80 pence, with a volume-weighted average price of 361.09 pence. Airtel Africa confirmed that all shares bought under this transaction will be cancelled.

Following the cancellation, the total number of ordinary shares in issue stands at 3,655,840,539, including 7,489,044 shares held in treasury. As a result, the companys total voting rights now amount to 3,648,351,495. Airtel Africa noted that this figure should be used by shareholders when assessing disclosure obligations under the UK Financial Conduct Authoritys Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules.
