The Confederation of African Football CAF has opened an investigation into incidents that occurred after two Africa Cup of Nations AFCON quarter-final matches at the weekend, the governing body said on Monday.
The incidents followed Morocco's victory over Cameroon in Rabat on Friday and Nigeria's 2-0 win against Algeria in Agadir on Saturday.
After the match in Rabat, players from both teams were involved in pushing and jostling on the pitch. In Agadir, a video shared on social media showed Algerian players following the referee toward the tunnel after the final whistle. Separate footage showed confrontations involving journalists from Nigeria and Algeria in the mixed zone.
