The organising committee for the Abia Soccer Fest, ASF, has announced it has discovered fifty young talents across the State from the recently completed Phase One of grassroots football tournament in the State.
Speaking at a press conference in Umuahia, Abia State Commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Uzor Nwachukwu, said the joint initiative was handled by his Ministry and the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.
He said that the First Phase covered all 771 autonomous communities in the 17 LGAs of the State and produced champions from the various wards, culminating in a total of 166 matches played across the State, with prizes presented to winners.
