The ?24.5 million price money announced by the Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL, 2025 Premiership Super 6 tournament is to boost female football in Nigeria. The move according to the statement made available to DAILY POST on Thursday by the Media Director, of NWFL, Samuel Ahmadu, is geared towards marking a significant boost in financial rewards for participating clubs.
Confirming the prize structure, the league revealed that the champions will receive N10 million maintaining the payout from the previous two seasons.
However, runners-up and third placed teams, according to the statement, will now take home N6 million and N4 million respectively, each reflecting a ?1 million increase from last year.
In a major step toward inclusivity and support, the bottom three teams will also earn N1.5 million each, up from N500,000 in the previous edition.
The development underscores the leagues growing commitment to financially supporting all clubs involved.
