Cape Town police are on the hunt after a 15-year-old girl was shot and killed while walking to school in Samora Machel on Wednesday morning, 11 June, reports Cape town Etc .
According to police spokesperson Anelisiwe Manyana, the tragic event occurred in Ashley Kriel Street just after 8am.
According to reports, police members responded to a complaint of a shooting incident on the mentioned address and upon arrival, they found a female victim laying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds sustained to her body, Manyana said upon enquiry.
The 15-year-old victim was declared deceased at the scene by the medical personnel. The unknown suspect/s who fled the scene are yet to be arrested.
It is believed that the young girl, who was a Grade 10 student at the nearby Zisukhanyo Secondary School, was deliberately targeted and was shot four times, according to various community news groups.
