Share Kenya Marketing firm WPP Scangroup has signed more than 8000 SMEs on Goby , the merchandise e-commerce platform. The adoption of technology will help the company diversify its digital services and revenue sources while pivoting from its traditional communications and advertising promotion channels.

The company's latest annual report described the development as, "Goby is WPP Scangroup's e-commerce platform launched early this year to enable small and medium-sized businesses to help them build, manage and grow their businesses online."

How does it work?

SMEs can create virtual stores that allow users an ability to add product prices and images.
Value-added services such as tracking orders and broadcast messages
Goby users are charged Sh300 ($3) by Scangroup, the company that views e-commerce as the best way to provide customers with convenience. The other digital product is Optimus , an automated marketing service that helps where businesses can get and retain new customers.
