afrilabs annual gathering innovation hubs

Share Afrilabs comprises a network of 225 innovation centers spread across 47 African countries that fully support these hubs in raising successful entrepreneurs so as to create jobs and come up with innovative solutions for the continent's problems.

At the first annual gathering held this year, 17 of the hub members received 15000 in support of their projects. Djembe has also teamed up with AfriLabs to launch an insight report. 3 hubs each received a 2,000 grant to run their virtual meetups on COVID-19 and SDGs.

The initiative run by the AfriLabs Capacity Building Programme (ACBP) offers AFD support through it's Digital Africa seed fund. Winners were picked through a pool of 60 applicants drawn from innovation hubs across Africa. Among the most successful applications are collaborations in different countries and regions.

The hubs that won the virtual incubation projects were Ingenious City (the DRC), Roar Nigeria Hub (Nigeria), and the Centre d'Innovation de Lubumbashi. There were also other categories such as the women support and Open space collaboration projects.

Afrilabs was founded in 2011 to build a community centered around emerging tech hubs and innovations. This serves as a meeting point and community for entrepreneurs, investors, and developers. You can visit Visit to learn more about AfriLabs.
