Zimbabwe's Ministry of ICT, Postal and Courier Services has highlighted a major step forward in the country's digital transformation agenda following a recent conference hosted by the Ministry of Justice. The event, which focused on parole and reintegration, brought together key stakeholders to explore modern, tech-driven approaches to strengthening the correctional services system.
Hon. Minister Mavetera, who served as guest of honour, outlined an ambitious vision to digitise the national prisoners database and introduce Artificial Intelligence into prison management. These reforms are expected to enhance efficiency, transparency, and data-driven decision-making within correctional facilities. The initiative aligns with the government's broader push to modernize public services through strategic digitisation.
The Ministry noted that ongoing advancements to the Integrated Case Management System are already yielding positive results, with further upgrades planned to keep pace with global technological developments. Alongside system improvements, the government is also focusing on digital inclusion and rehabilitation.
