South Africa's tax rules have helped send a lot of private money into commercial solar. One fund manager, Jaltech, has used the Section 12B tax allowance to put more than R1 billion into solar projects in less than two years.
According CBN, Jaltech has paid for about 250 solar installations with a total of 48 MW. More than 600 private investors helped provide the money.
