South African bus travellers are preparing for another record-setting festive season, with fresh Busbud data revealing that South Africans will cover the longest Christmas Eve bus distances in the world this year, Cape town Etc reports.
The global travel platform, which has processed more than 10 million ticket sales worldwide, reports that the average journey for local riders on 24 December will stretch 687 kilometres.
The travel rush isn't just a seasonal spike, it reflects how strongly South Africans rely on long-distance buses for family reunions, work travel, and cross-border movement.
