Pakistan will tour Sri Lanka for a three-match T20I series in the first-half of January next year. The series will serve as a preparation for both the teams ahead of commencement of the T20 World Cup 2026, which will be played in India and Sri Lanka in February-March.

The Salman Ali Agha-led unit will play the three matches on January 7, 9 and 11, with all the games schedule to be played in Dambulla. The brief tour will be the Green Shirts' first white-ball assignment in 2026. The Pakistan Cricket Board PCB stated that the series will provide the team with "valuable match practice ahead of next year's global event".

The PCB has given white-ball cricket the utmost priority ever since the conclusion of the Pakistan Super League PSL in May earlier this year. There have been multiple T20I series which Pakistan have been a part of, including series against Bangladesh both home and away, West Indies away, South Africa home as well as two tri-nation series.
