A 24-year-old Northern Cape man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for attacking the mother of his partner and setting her house alight in March this year.
The Hopetown Regional Court heard that Lukas Klein physically assaulted 47-year-old Lena Louw, when she tried to stop the convicted man from attacking her daughter.
Provincial police spokesperson, Thabo Litabe, says the mother attempted to defend herself by pouring boiling water on Louw.
