The National Consumer Commission NCC says it will make another surprise visit to KwaZulu-Natal businesses to ascertain compliance with the Consumer Protection Act CPA.
Last week, the Commission conducted compliance inspections in Pinetown, Pietermaritzburg, Durban CBD, Springfield, Inanda, Umlazi, and Pavilion Mall in KwaZulu-Natal KZN where it uncovered widespread non-compliance in terms of product labelling which contravenes the Section 24 of the CPA.
The inspections, which were conducted jointly with law enforcement agencies such as the South African Police Service SAPS and the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications, are part of the NCCs efforts to ensure that unsafe and expired goods are removed from the shelves.
