A multi-vehicle crash has resulted in the closure of both the northbound and southbound lanes of the N3 near Peace Valley in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal.
The Road Traffic Inspectorate RTI says the accident occurred when a truck lost control and crashed into about 20 other vehicles. Motorists have been urged to use alternative routes.
RTI spokesperson Sindi Msimang said emergency services are still at the scene.
