Retired Ekurhuleni City Manager Doctor Imogen Mashazi has conceded that she did not take appropriate action against suspended Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department EMPD chief Jabulani Mapiyeye.
Her comments come after a video of a march of EMPD members was played at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry in Pretoria.
This was in connection with a drunk driving case against Mapiyeye in which a minor was allegedly killed. Mapiyeye has also been accused of favouring certain EMPD members.
