ANC National Chairperson Gwede Mantashe says he will not make himself available for a leadership position at the partys 2027 national conference on account of age.
His decision comes amid growing speculation about who will succeed President Cyril Ramaphosa as ANC President when his second term ends in December 2027.
The party is currently holding its mid-term National General Council NGC which is reviewing implementation of policies adopted at its 2022 national conference.
