The Congress of South African Trade Unions COSATU President Zingiswa Losi has called for strengthened unity within the Tripartite Alliance at COSATUs 40th-anniversary rally at Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto.
Marking four decades since its founding in 1985, the federation reflected on its role in the anti-apartheid struggle and its victories for workers, as well as a steady decline in membership, driven by job losses and a rapidly changing labour market.
Losi used the event to urge alliance partners to close ranks ahead of the 2026 local government elections.
