E-hailing services in Gqeberha have embarked on a shutdown in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro.

Drivers marched to the city hall, joining a national awareness campaign led by the National E-Hailing Federation of South Africa NEFSA.

General Secretary of the Eastern Cape E-hailing Association, Mfundiso Gama, says the shutdown forms part of their mobilisation efforts to highlight safety concerns, unfair pricing, poor earnings, and ongoing disputes with e-hailing companies.
