Cape Town's beachgoers have reason to celebrate as eight of the city's iconic beaches have once again been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag status for the 2025/26 season, Cape town Etc reports.
The announcement was made at the annual Blue Flag Awards ceremony in Port Alfred, where beaches across South Africa were recognised for meeting the highest standards in environmental management, safety, and water quality.
The accolade, facilitated by the Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa WESSA and confirmed through an international adjudication process, highlights the city's commitment to maintaining world-class coastal spaces. Beaches receiving the award include Bikini Beach, Camps Bay, Clifton 4th, Fish Hoek, Llandudno, Melkbosstrand, Muizenberg, and Silwerstroomstrand.
