The Directors Guild of Nigeria DGN has launched two groundbreaking initiatives, DGN Academy and DGN Studios/TV, to transform the Nigerian film industry. The launch event, held during the week at the DGN National Office in Lagos, brought together industry stakeholders, filmmakers, and government representatives.
DGN President, Uche Agbo, emphasized that the establishment of DGN Academy and DGN Studios/TV marks a significant milestone in the Guilds efforts to reposition Nigerian directors at the heart of Africas creative economy. The initiatives aim to promote structured, inclusive, and globally competitive filmmaking practices.
