OpenAI appears to be moving closer to turning ChatGPT into an everything app following reports that the AI tool is testing a new group chat feature.
The development comes shortly after the company unveiled its Sora 2 video generation model and a TikTok-style AI video app of the same name last month.
According to Tibor Blaho , Lead Engineer at AIPRM, who shared the first preview of the feature on X formerly Twitter on Tuesday, the new update introduces a Start a group chat button in the ChatGPT web app's navigation bar. The option allows users to generate an invite link to create or join a group chat, which appears in a new sidebar section.
