The Cape Winelands District Municipality CWDM in the Western Cape says its Fire Services teams have reported that they have contained the five major fires which started a few days ago.
Firefighters in the region had to battle stubborn fires at various sites last week.
Municipal spokesperson Jo-Anne Otto says the wind eased overnight in Idas Valley in Stellenbosch, allowing teams to make progress.
