An all-female law enforcement operation is being conducted in the Umgungundlovu District at Pietermaritzburg, targeting the most dangerous crime hotspots.
Provincial Operation Basadi, which is a crime prevention programme as part of Women's Month , has seen female officers lead roadblocks, compliance inspections, suspect raids and other intelligence-driven operations.
The district has a high number of murder cases and other violent crimes like cash-in-transit heists.
