Alexforbes says it is reviewing its legal options, particularly the unjustified cost order against the company, after the Mpumalanga high court granted an interdict halting the administration of the late deputy president David Mabuza's pension payout.
On Tuesday, Mabuza's daughter, Tamara Silinda, successfully blocked the distribution of her fathers R44.7m pension fund through an urgent court application.
In its response, Alexforbes said while it generally avoids publicly disclosing client information, it was necessary to clarify that when Mabuza retired in 2023, he elected not to retain his pension benefit in the Political Office-Bearers Pension Fund.
