Canada-based Nigerian Afrobeats musician, Foluwasegun Sanni, popularly known as Folucious FC, has shed light on the unique challenges faced by African artists in the diaspora as they strive to carve a niche in the global Afrobeats scene.
In an exclusive interview, the fast-rising Afrofusion star described the experience as a "double struggle" - maintaining authenticity to African roots while adapting to the dynamics of a foreign music industry.
"The Afrobeat sound is global now, but not every artist in the diaspora gets equal visibility," Folucious FC said. "Back home, you're sometimes seen as too foreign, while abroad, people don't fully grasp the depth of where the music comes from. It's a balancing act that takes consistency and real passion."
